Cheeze Its

So tonight Kent and I went out with another couple. Some people offered to babysit all the kids...for free...so we took them up on it. They were feeding the kids some Cheeze Its, and Peter loved them! In fact, he loved them so much, he discovered a way to get more.

The other couple has a little girl Peter's age. She still takes a pacifier, so when Peter finished all his crackers, he would walk over to Audie, stick her pacifier in her mouth, and eat her cheeze its! What a stinker! This cracked us up when we heard it, but I guess it's not good for our 15-month-old to be this sneaky...

Little Helper

We put together Piper's crib today. Peter, being the little busy be that he is, insisted on helping. He threw stuff away for us, handed dad the pieces, but best of all, he helped screw in the bolts. We gave him his own allen wrench to use. He would go around finding all the holes and put the wrench in them. Then he'd twist the wrench around and move on to the next hole. He's such a cute helper!

Dancing...

Peter's monitor has a button you can push to play music. Well, he's figured out how to turn the music on. Every time I open his door, he heads straight for the monitor. He pushes the button, puts the monitor down, and spins in circles with an adorable smile on his face. He's got to be the cutest dancer ever!

Random Happenings

So I obviously haven't written anything in a while, so I thought I'd just jot down a bunch of random things I thought were cute that I remember...

Today, Peter was eating hotdogs, cheese, and apples for lunch. I gave him ketchup for his hotdog, but he decided to dip his apples in it instead. After trying his first ketchup-dipped apple, he says, "Mmm mmm!"

Yesterday he was chasing Kent around the living room and kitchen saying, "Roar! Roar! Roar!" It was so cute! I love how his personality is taking shape!

When the girls (dogs) are outside, he'll wait by the door saying, "Hoo, Hoo, Hoo!" (That's Hoove.)

He's started sleeping with his "baby." It's a little bear that was Kent's when he was little. He's so cute with it. He'll hug it when you give it to him. It really helped him sleep when we were away from home at Thanksgiving.

When you ask him a question, if he doesn't know the answer, he'll furrow his eyebrows, raise his hands, and say, "I don't know." (Well, a variation of "I don't know.") It's too cute.

We bought him swords the other day. They're made out of foam, so completely safe. :) He likes to sword fight with them. Our poor dogs, especially Cana, get the most beatings from them...

My parents have a cat. We visited them over Thanksgiving. Peter decided it was fun pulling the cat's tail. Poor cat didn't like him very much.

He is currently on his hands and knees on the floor. I believe he's pooping. He's making a "fart" noise with his lips and pushing...maybe too much information for most readers. :)

He likes to sing "Where is Pointer?". He doesn't say any of the words, but he definitely has the melody down and can do the finger actions. He also sings "London Bridge."

He's started being a little helper. He likes to throw things away. He also picks up pretty good.

He's discovered he can make funny sounds with paper towel holders. He goes around with them up to his mouth singing...

He plays fetch with Hoove. Each time Hoove gets the ball he claps for her.

He's great at the sign language we've been teaching him! He knows "more," "all done," "thank you," "please," and "I love you." He's such a smart little guy!

He takes after his mom with his love for chocolate...if you give him a bite, he starts saying, "more, please!" over and over!

I guess that's all for now. Maybe I'll get better at blogging and add posts more often...then again, maybe a monthly update will suffice. :)

Walking!

Peter has figured out how to walk around furniture! He's quite the pro at pulling himself up!

At first, he couldn't figure out how to get down after he pulled himself up. He would eventually end up falling and bonking his head. But now, being the problem solver he is, he had learned to place one hand on the floor while still holding on with the other hand. He then puts his other hand down and moves into a sitting position.

Ride on Cowboy!

I have my rocking horse that my grandpa made me from when I was little. Peter can finally ride it! He's so cute! We say, "Ride on Cowboy!" and he goes to town on the horse! It's so cute!

He also rides like this in shopping carts, restaurant high chairs, and a little rocking chair at meemoo and grandpa's house!

Talking on the Phone

Peter has a favorite new toy! He loves playing with old cell phones! He puts them behind his ear to talk. He's also figured out how to open and close them and he likes to push the buttons! What a smart little guy!

Peter's New Trick

So, Peter was eating lunch today. He loves to eat! He eats everything I put on his tray. He was eating chicken vienna sausages, fruit cocktail, carrots, and grapes. He's such a good eater!

Well, I was cooking some macaroni on the stove, and I heard Peter giggling. I love his giggle! He has the best laugh! Well, the source of his giggle came from his new trick.

He would grab a piece of fruit off his tray, move his hand over until it was hanging off his high chair, and drop the food! Cana and Hoove (our two dogs) would fight over who got the food. Peter thought this was hilarious! The little turkey figured out he doesn't have to eat the food he doesn't like, the dogs will do it for him!

The Little Boy in the...Dishwasher???

Peter is currently trying to kiss the little boy in the dishwasher. It's pretty humorous...He's holding onto his high chair tray in one hand, his football in the other, and sitting in front of the dishwasher with his face pressing against the door. His mouth is open and he's definitely trying to kiss the little boy he sees...

He's a cutie, I know!

Play Time!

Peter is learning new skills all the time! He's started getting up on his knees to reach things. He's getting really good at balancing on his knees! He's also getting into a lot of things he shouldn't...

Peter loves playing catch! He's cute to play with. If we throw the ball into his lap, he'll grab it. He then holds it out in front of him, opens his hand, and lets it roll back to us! He's a smart little guy!

He loves chasing his purple cup around the kitchen floor. I have a video of that, but I'll have to upload that later.

Wakey Wakey!

I love waking Peter up in the mornings! I guess I don't really wake him up, I just get him around 7:30 when he wakes up. Anyway, he has the best smile for me in the mornings! He gets so excited to see me. He flails his arms and legs, gets a huge smile, and tells me how excited he is to see me!

It's one of my favorite times of the day!

Nap Time!

So the other day, Peter woke up from his nap a little early, so I took him into our room to lie down with him. He didn't really want to sleep, so I had to pretend to sleep so I could easily ignore him.

So here I am, closing my eyes and snuggling with my precious baby boy. Suddenly, he starts poking my eye! Not only is he poking my eye, but he's also pulling on my lip and pinching my nose! I ignore him for a while, but finally I can't take it anymore. I hadn't cut his fingernails in a while, so he was kind of hurting me.

I opened my eyes to tell him no, but when I looked at him, he put his head down, rested his arm on the bed and closed his eyes! The little stinker was pretending to sleep! So, I closed my eyes again...but he started poking me again! So I let it go on for a while, then I opened my eyes to tell him no. He pretended to sleep again! This happened a couple more times before he really fell asleep.

He's such a jokester! He definitely takes after his dad in this area!

Being a Mom is So Much Fun!

As I sit here listening to my nine month old baby sleeping peacefully, I am reflecting back on these past few months and thinking how lucky I am to be the mom of this beautiful baby boy.

I love Peter's smile! Whenever he sees me, his grin spreads from ear to ear! It melts my heart to see that smile!

His laugh brings on laughter of my own! He's got the best laugh! He's not ticklish, but his giggles can be brought on by other means!

His talking is the best! He makes the cutest face when he says, "oo." I love hearing him say, "mama!" He's also making the cutest "s" and "t" sounds!

He's crawling! He is a mover! I was cleaning up his bath stuff tonight, and I heard this little voice behind me along with the shuffle of little knees on carpet. He had come to see me! I left the bathroom, went a little ways away, squatted, and waited to see what he would do. He got this big grin on his face and bolted for me! I loved it!

He's also walking with help! He loves to walk. When you hold his hands, he'll get the biggest grin on his face, giggle, and take his baby steps. He's pretty wobbly, so I can't let go, but he is so happy walking!

I just love this little boy! I can't believe how lucky I am to be his mom!

Sneaky Peter

Spying a duck, Peter quickly drops his teething ring and lunges for it.  Grasping it in his pudgy hand, he brings it up to his mouth and begins sucking on its head.  Making gurgling sounds, he is content to just sit there.  Until he spies his next target.  Dropping the duck, he topples to the ground and rolls over.  Lying there, watching patiently he slowly moves his arm.  He rests his arm on the floor.  With one arm on his chest and one next to his victim he waits.  Slowly he reaches up and places his hand on Cana's white fur.  Unbeknownst to Cana, he is not simply going to pet her.  Strategically placing her fur between his forefinger and middle finger, he closes his hand and pulls.  Cana, caught off guard, turns her head, jumps up, and runs away.  Giggling, Peter rolls over and continues to play with his duck.
